Sonablate® 500: High Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFU)

A Clinical trial is being conducted to determine the effectiveness and safety of the Sonablate 500® device using focused ultrasound energy to treat patients who have localized recurrent prostate cancer following radiation therapy.

Eligible Participants must
     • Have been treated with external beam radiation therapy two or more years prior.
     • Have organ-confirmed recurrent prostate cancer T1 or T2.
     • Be between the ages of 40 and 80.
     • Have a Gleason score of less than or equal to 7.
     • Have a PSA level between .5ng/mL and 10ng/ml.
     • Have a recent (within 6 months) prostate biopsy that is positive for cancer cells.

There is no cost to enroll in this study and all potential participants must be screened before becoming a trial subject.
